GRIT - Horticultural Grit is a grit with neutral pH which is used for improving soil DRAINAGE, top dressing lawns and as a planting base for alpine, cacti and rock plants.  It is used also in BONSAI>BONSAI>BONSAI but has tended to be replaced by lighter materials (such as PUMICE/moler clay) which do the saME job.
