Meetings - Second Sunday of every month 1.30pm in Alloway Village Hall

This months Programme - January 2018 for Ayr  Bonsai

Hi all Ayrshire Group members. A very Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a pleasant time over festive season with your respective families, relatives, friends and associates. Festivities are over for another year but a new season is about to begin in bonsai terms. Our next scheduled Club Meeting date is Sunday 14 January 2018 BUT it is no ordinary meet. This is our annual Winter Image Display which has proved very popular in the previous years we arranged it. Participation and help from as many members as possible is required to ensure another successful event. As well as looking out trees for the display tables please come along to our usual venue ( Alloway Village Hall) about 9.30am to assist in setting up the tables etc. One thing we cannot control or influence is the weather on the day. If it is safe to travel please do so and help the Club out. In previous years members from other Bonsai Groups (far and wider) have made great efforts to attend and support us. Lend a hand and make sure we do our best to make their (and our) travels worthwhile and memorable. This time of year can be rather dull for us bonsai enthusiasts so please do what you can to create a bit more interest and pleasant involvement. Food is probably the last thing on our minds after over indulging this past week but if you are able to bring something along to offer attendees that would be appreciated.

This months Programme - January 2018 for Forth Valley Bonsai

Tuesday January 9th. is for deciduous trees mainly and some instructioin given on wiring where needed.

As usual we would like to see as many trees as possible both for display and constructive criticism.

Jim Conlin will be there to show and possibly sell some of his lovely scrolls.

Next months Programme February 2018 -

Quite a disappointing turnout for our first meeting of the year but to be fair there were a number of genuine reasons for the absentees.

They did however miss a very interesting and informative talk by Jim Conlin on the periods of Japanese history and culture, Jim also brought some of his scrolls to view where the skill and artistry was obvious to all of us and we thank him very much for his input.

Our next meeting is Tuesday 6th. February and is an early repotting night for those who wish to do so.

We have again been invited to participate in the Japan Week at Stirling University on 20th. 21st. & 22nd. February, details will follow for those interesting in helping.

This months Programme - January 2018 for Lanarkshire Bonsai

Sunday 7th January:  Happy New Year!

As there's not much bonsai-ing at this time of year, and all the seasonal festivities are over, we'll have our usual club AGM, followed by discussion of and planning for our 2018 syllabus. Maurice has a provisional draft, inc. dates of venues of interest, but there's still a few gaps to fill, so thinking caps on, please!

Also, last chance to return any wristbands from Bonsai Europa to convenor, as they will be redeemed at SBA committee meeting on Jan 10th.
