Existing Bonsai A To Z Entry for Botanical Name Botanical Name  - (Other) (No Photo) Sometimes termed "Latin Name" or "Scientific Name", this is the name which is unique to the individual plant.   The botanical names have two main parts : genus (generic) and species (specific) name e.g. Acer Palmatum.  They are descriptive of the characteristics specific to the plant. The botanical name is closely followed by the variety or cultivar name e.g. Acer Palmatum "Deshojo"
