Existing Bonsai A To Z Entry for Fukien Tea (Carmona microphylla) Fukien Tea (Carmona microphylla)  - (Tree Type (Indoors)) (No Photo) A tender, evergreen shrub with buff to brown bark bearing a dense canopy of shiny, dark green leaves and also tiny white flowers all year round, if sufficiently high temperatures and humidity can be provided. STYLE : Best suited to informal upright but prolific shoots mean that almost any shape can be obtained. WARNING : Will die if exposed to any frost at all. Care Info REPOT : Every 2 years in spring. Do not feed until growth has re-started. SOIL : Free draining soil : 20:80 grit:organic. PRUNE : Any time. All unwanted shoots should be removed as soon as they appear, so that all energy is directed into the desired partes of the tree. PINCH: Foliage pads can be trimmed like a hedge but will need annual thinning to allow light and air to penetrate. WATER : Keep wet in growing season but not waterlogged, and just moist when growth is slower. FEED : Low nitrogen all year round. WARNING : Will die if exposed to any frost at all.
