Existing Bonsai A To Z Entry for Turnbuckle Turnbuckle  - (Tool) Hook and eye turnbuckles are used to apply gradually increased force to pull large branches and trunks into position. One end of the turnbuckle is tied to the branch which requires to be bent and the other end is attached to an anchor point, then pressure is exerted by tightening the turnbuckle.
