
Also termed "False Cypress" with most common variant being "Hinoki Cypress" with most common bonsai variants Nana Gracilis and Yatsubusa. They have fan shaped branches with evergreen, scaley, wax coated leaves edged in silver/blue which form in "clouds" on the branches. The overall shape is conical.
Other Chamaecyparis include Pisifera (Sarawa Cypress) which has dark green , scale-like leaves with white markings.

REPOT : Every 2-3 years in spring. Slightly less frequently for older trees.
SOIL : Basic soil mix - or akadama as long as it is not left to dry out.
PRUNE : Prune branches in summer.
PINCH : Pinch out growing tips to maintain shape and allow light into structure of the tree.
WATER : Keep wet but not saturated. They should not be allowed to dry out. Benefits from misting.
FEED : Balanced feed in spring/summer, low nitrogen in autumn.
