Also known as "Money Tree". Technically not a tree but a succulent of which there are many varieties but arborescens is the most common for BONSAI>BONSAI>BONSAI. The "spongey" trunk bears thick, round, grey-green LEAVES which are borne in pairs at right angles to the previous pair.

WARNING : Water can be the worst enemy of the jade plant. They put out ROOTS in dry soil to find water, whereas other SPECIES only root where water is present. Never keep roots constantly wet.


Care Info

JADE - (CRASSULA ARBORESSCENS/OVATA) -

REPOT : Every 2 years in early spring for young plants and when pot becoMEs full of root for older plants. Keep warm and dry for 2-3 weeks after re-potting.

SOIL : Free draining soil a must. Fine GRIT is best.

PRUNE : Mid spring to early summer.

PINCH : Let LEAVES grow to 2-3 pairs and then prune to 1.

WATER : Allow to become almost dry before WATERING and then water sparingly. In winter keep almost dry.

FEED : Every 2 weeks with a weak liquid fertilizer. Do not feed when DORMANT.
