		SHARI - A shari is an area of DEADWOOD which extends down the trunk of a tree. It is created by tearing away BARK from a JIN and continuing this down the trunk. The area is then treated with liME sulphur to whiten and preserve the deadwood which has been exposed. See also  - NEJIKAN.
